HIP FILLER PRE TREATMENT CARE

Before your hip filler treatment, a comprehensive consultation with one of our experienced injectors is essential. We will assess your body concerns, discuss your aesthetic goals, and review your medical history and medications. To optimise results and minimise risks, avoid blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and certain supplements for a few days before the procedure.

THE TREATMENT PROCESS

At Derma Beauty Clinic, we apply a combination of CE certified hyaluronic acid dermal fillers to the hips. This is dependent on each individual case, and aims to create smooth long lasting results for each specific area. The Dermal fillers we use last a minimum of 3-4 years, with an 18 month top-up advised to maintain volume and shape. Once the areas of injection are marked and discussed, you will lay comfortably on sterile sheets placed on our procedure bed, and rest your head / upper body on a memory foam pillow for extra comfort. We will thoroughly clean and sanitise your hips with alcohol wipes and a pre injection solution, then inject a local anaesthetic to the area for minimal discomfort.

One to two entry points are made on each side to minimise the risk of infection. A minimum of 150 mls of filler is recommended for each side, and the number of sessions required are dependent on skin elasticity. Once localised, the product is injected deep between the fat layer and muscle. Injecting at this depth guarantees a lower risk of infection and increases the longevity of the product, as well as creating a softer, more natural feel. Once injected, a steristrip may be placed over the small incision with plasters / band aids.

As soon as you’re ready, you will be able to view your results in front of our floor length
mirror.

AFTERCARE

After your hip filler treatment, you may experience mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites, which usually resolves within a few days. Applying ice packs can help reduce swelling. It’s advisable to avoid strenuous activities, excessive sun or heat exposure, and alcohol for at least 24 hours post-treatment.

RESULTS

The outcome is typically visible immediately, however, this is not the final result. You will have a degree of swelling, and the product takes around 3 weeks to settle, soften then expand. The treatment provides a fuller, more lifted appearance of the hip area, with improved shape and volume. Depending on your desires, Derma Beauty Clinic can achieve natural-looking enhancement of the hips that are more substantial in size, with minimal downtime. Drinking a lot of water after will increase your results due the dermal filler drawing in water and increasing in size, and most patients notice optimal results as any initial swelling subsides. Full effects generally develop over the following weeks as the fillers settle and integrate, offering a more contoured and youthful silhouette. Regular touch-ups can help maintain and refine your desired look.

Hip fillers offer a safe, effective way to enhance your body’s contours with minimal downtime, helping you achieve a fuller and more confident appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Hip dip filler and hip expansion are both non-surgical treatments that can be addressed using hip fillers, but they serve different purposes. Hip dip filler targets the indentation or ‘hip dip’ on the sides of the hips, using dermal fillers to smooth out these areas and create a more even, contoured appearance. Hip expansion, on the other hand, involves adding volume to the entire hip area to achieve a fuller, more rounded silhouette. While hip dip fillers address specific depressions for a smoother profile, hip expansion aims to enhance overall hip volume and shape for a more pronounced and curvaceous figure.

The amount of filler required for the hip area depends on individual goals and the specific treatment being performed. Generally, 150 mls of dermal filler are used per hip, with the exact quantity varying based on the desired volume and contour. For addressing hip dips, fewer syringes may be needed, while full hip expansion typically requires a greater amount to achieve the desired fullness and shape. During your consultation, your injector will assess your body and aesthetic goals to recommend the appropriate volume of filler needed for optimal results, ensuring a natural and well-balanced appearance.

The liquid BBL uses dermal fillers to enhance the buttocks, providing a fuller, more rounded appearance, while hip fillers address volume and shape in the hip area. Combining these treatments allows for a harmonious enhancement of both the buttocks and hips, creating a balanced and curvaceous silhouette. During your consultation, your injector will assess your body and discuss your aesthetic goals to develop a personalised treatment plan that ensures optimal results and a cohesive outcome.

Following hip filler treatment, you can expect a recovery period with minimal downtime. Typically, there may be mild swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites, which usually resolves within a few days. You might also experience some tenderness or a feeling of fullness in the treated area. To aid recovery, avoid strenuous activities, excessive sun exposure, and alcohol for at least 24 hours. It is also advisable not to lay on the hip area for a few days. You should be able to sit comfortably for short periods, with little chance of filler migration to the depth of application.

Most patients can resume their normal routines shortly after the procedure, though it’s wise to follow any specific aftercare instructions provided by your injector for the best results and a smooth recovery process.

Hip fillers are generally safe when administered by Derma Beauty Clinic’ qualified and experienced injectors. The procedure involves injecting dermal fillers, often hyaluronic acid-based, into the hip area to enhance volume and contour. The fillers used are FDA-approved and have a long history of safety in aesthetic treatments. While side effects such as mild swelling, redness, or bruising can occur, these are typically temporary and resolve quickly. Choosing a reputable clinic ensures adherence to safety protocols and minimises risks. Always consult with a skilled injector to discuss your medical history and ensure the treatment is appropriate for you.
